Adventure tours are for people who have a zest for life and lust for adventure. If you have an interest in people, places, animals and adventure, then these tours are for you!
ACCOMMODATION ON TOURS We make use of hotels, hostels, chalets, bungalows, traditional huts and sometimes safari-tents. In Southern Africa all the accommodation used has bedding provided. All accommodation is 2 per room, but not all accommodation is en-suite. Some has shared bathroom facilities, ie: in the National Parks where some bungalows have two bedrooms that share one bathroom. In East Africa the accommodation is less reliable and should be treated as a small upgrade from camping. 3-4 People can share a room and single supplements are difficult to provide. As bedding is not always provided you need to bring a towel and sleeping bag on these tours. An upgrade to twin accommodation in East Africa is cheap and usually fairly easy to arrange with the lodge on arrival, depending on availability.
WHAT TO EXPECT Each day in Africa is new and exciting. A proportion of each day is spent traveling from one place to another. The tours can cover large distances and include plenty of highlights. A typical day with us starts at sunrise - we make the most of every day! Lunches are normally informal affairs on the side of the road, or a local picnic spot. Evenings are spent socialising and relaxing.
WHO WILL YOU TRAVEL WITH Our groups average around 18 people, from all walks of life, and various nationalities. Although there are often couples and groups of friends together, most travelers are single and the male-female mix generally works out about even. The nature of an adventure tour tends to attract a certain age group, and experience has shown us that our adventure trips are unsuitable for the majority of travelers outside the 16 to 55 age bracket. However, we do accept people older than 55 years because age is a state of mind. Under 16's are welcome on our Family departures or upon request. An organised tour allows you to take full advantage of our knowledge, experience and, of course, superb guides.
WHAT'S INCLUDED Transport in our specialised vehicles, the services of two qualified guides, meals, accommodation, activities as specified and most National Park fees.
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED Visas, vaccinations, items of personal nature, alcohol, snacks and optional activities.
PRE AND POST TOUR ACCOMMODATION If you require accommodation before or after your tour, we can arrange this for you.
HEALTH Malaria is a real concern in many areas of Africa, especially during the rainy season. Our advise is simple, prevent getting bitten by using an insect repellent and use an effective prophylactic. Speak to you doctor before selecting your malaria medication. Vaccinations - please ensure you have the relevant vaccinations. Proof of inoculation is required on certain tours.
